How Friends Can Make the Biggest Impact on Your Life’s Journey

As I was travelling around New Brunswick for the first week, I was hating how I was doing it. I had wanted to be open to everything and not be the total planner that I am, so I was booking places day by day. I was getting super frustrated as I wasn’t really seeing anything because when I arrived at my place, I had to get on the computer and figure out where to go next and find a place to stay. It was also getting expensive since I was ending up having to stay in B&B’s and hotels. I was also not meeting anyone, there was no one to talk to, and I couldn’t seem to find my groove. I booked an AirB&B in Moncton for a few days and even though I felt like I could relax a little, I was also feeling pretty crumby and wanted to quit.

I wrote my friend Amy a brief note and told her I was not having the best time. She wrote back that she was going to be in Halifax the next day for an overnight and that I should come down. Since it was only 3 hours away I was thinking about it. Then she told me that her good friend Freda was going and that I should go with her. We got introduced on Facebook and we made plans to meet at the casino. She was going to pick me up and we were going to drive together. Well the moment I got in the car we got on famously. Talked nonstop and it felt like I had known her forever. That trip to Halifax changed my whole journey. Meeting new people, going out for food and drink, having people to talk to and just enjoying life.

Friends

On our drive back to Moncton Freda invited me to stay with her for a night, which turned into two, and I took her up on it. She and her family welcomed me into their home and family exactly when I needed it most. I got to meet and hang out with some of her nieces and nephew, Haden, Chase and Lily, who are Amazing!!! I also met her mom and step dad and her sister Tracy. It was so comfortable with all of them that they felt like my second family. I will forever be grateful for the warmth and kindness you all showed me. Hopefully it won’t be too long till we see each other again! 🙂 The photos are a few of my favorite moments hanging out with everyone.
